Job Description:

An exciting opportunity exists within the Learning and Development Department for a Regional Training Manager to join the team within the KZN Region. The Regional Training Manager is responsible to ensure that standards and consistency in restaurants are maintained and improved through training, developing and quality assuring the knowledge and skills of employees in the region.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / NQF level 4
  • Minimum 2 years Management experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Learning and Development

Duties and Responsibilities:

REGIONAL SUPPORT:

  • Consults with regional clients to determine specific training needs for employee groups
  • Conducts a thorough needs analysis and recommends appropriate training strategy
  • Develops a strategic training plan and calendar that is aligned to business needs and objectives of the region
  • Regularly examines training objectives to maintain strategic alignment, revising as necessary

RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all the training undertaken in the region and the results thereof
  • Completes monthly reports for submission to management and relevant stakeholders
  • Administers all training related invoicing

SKILL AND TRAINING EVALUATION:

  • Monitors and acts on feedback to enhance training activities
  • Ensures that the quality, standards and consistency within restaurants in the allocated region are maintained and improved
  • Ensures that all staff in the allocated region are up to date on their training cycles
  • Provides timely feedback to management on attendee participation and performance
  • Evaluates training certification results and work performance to identify areas of improvement in training courses

TRAINING IMPLEMENTATION:

  • Implements the training plan and calendar within the region
  • Conducts “train the trainer” sessions to prepare others to provide instruction using the most appropriate method of delivery to ensure mastery of the material presented
  • Facilitates workshops and presents training module material for NQF Level 5 Learnership Programmes
  • Assists with the facilitation of workshops and presenting training module material for NQF Level 4 Learnership Programmes when required
  • Assesses the performance and achievement of standards and qualifications for NQF Level 5 Learnership Programmes

TRAINING MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Evaluates training material to ensure quality, content accuracy and a relevant and appropriate learning experience for targeted audiences
  • Collaborates with designers and subject-matter experts to redesign and develop course content and instructional materials
  • Assists in maintaining all course materials to ensure applicability to current products and revisions

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Provides coaching, mentorship and best practice guidance to other trainers
  • Supports Skills Trainers and In-Casa Trainers within their region in regard to training, aims, practices and processes
  • Manages and coordinates the goals, performance objectives and personal development of Skills Trainers
