Job Purpose:

Plan and create compelling social media content and manage a growing community for an exciting new lifestyle services brand within the Nedbank Group. Experienced at communicating complex ideas in simple ways, and will know how to leverage social media effectively to drive brand awareness, engagement, and positive sentiment.

Social Media Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business to produce content plans that drive engagement, use channels effectively, and achieve the business objectives.
  • Write useful, engaging, and persuasive copy, correctly applying brand guidelines and ensuring the accurate use of language and tone across all social media channels.
  • Respond to comments, queries, and complaints from the community, escalating to the service desk when appropriate.
  • Provide regular reporting that generates meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Collaborate effectively with influencers from time to time.
  • Cover live events, including some travel (when required).

Essential Qualification:

Relevant degree or diploma (marketing, design or copywriting)

Type of Exposure:

Minimum Experience Level

Minimum required experience (essential disqualifier – relevant industry experience):

  • 1 – 3 years working in social media as a senior community manager (client or agency)
  • Experience working on both client and agency side.

Advantageous experience (not a disqualifier):

  • Experience working with professional design software (Adobe CC)
  • Photography and/or videography

Skills (Technologies, systems or software knowledge, etc.)

  • Experience using social media listening and analytics tools (BrandsEye, Social Studio, Datorama, etc)
