Job Description:
You will be responsible for fault finding, diagnosis and repair of equipment, including that of the lifting machinery, as well as the maintenance, overhaul and commissioning of this equipment.
Your role will:
- Supervise the workshop to ensure safe work and teams for optimal efficiency.
- Oversee repairs of various equipment promoting a key understanding of the critical components, interfaces and the consequences of repair actions.
- Plan and manage materials for the repair work for the workshop as per Material Management Procedures and populate requirements on SAP.
- Ensure quality management system and QCP’s are in place for work executed and condition assessments reports submitted.
- Execute equipment repair plans to achieve an optimal result (time, quality and cost), assist with job costs and time estimates.
Qualifications:
Formal education:
- N4 Mechanical (or higher) qualification.
- MERSETA Trade Test Certificate (or equivalent) with appropriate 3-year apprenticeship: Mechanical Fitter Trade test. Millwright or Earth Moving will also be considered.
Additional requirements:
- Computer literate
Role-specific knowledge:
- 5 to 8 years’ experience post MERSETA Trade Test in engineering maintenance, repair and installation services and support environment. Inclusive of 5 years’ experience supervising industrial work in a Mechanical/Hydraulic Environment.
- Experience in a medium to heavy industrial working environment would be an advantage.
